Pick a month, add your share size, and we will show a simple estimate based on the wind farm's generation and electricity price. We also show how the same amount of energy would compare at past rates.

The default price is set to £43/MWh because that was the rate used for the March 2026 report. You can still try other prices up to £200/MWh.

From 1 April 2026, the new price is £80.74/MWh, which is about 87.8% higher than the previous £43/MWh rate.

Choose a month and we will fill in the known generation and price for that month if we have them.

For this month, we have filled in the April 2025 to March 2026 price: £43/MWh.

For March 2026, we have actual generation of 7,146 MWh and a P50 value of 5,863 MWh.

The co-op example is based on owning 1 kW. If you own 2.208 kW, your result is simply 2.208 times that example.

You can also type in a different price, up to £200/MWh, to see how the same month would change.

From 1 April 2026, the new price is £80.74/MWh, about 87.8% higher than the previous £43/MWh rate.

Move the slider to see how your result changes. If you change the month again, we will reset the saved default price and generation for that month.

This shows what the same amount of energy would have been worth at today's price and older prices.

This is a gross estimate based on the reported generation and electricity price. It is not a guaranteed payment, bill credit or official statement, and it does not include tax, fees, timing differences or supplier-specific details.

About Kirk Hill

Key facts about the wind farm.

Turbines 8

Enercon E-92 turbines made in Germany.

Total capacity 18.8 MW

That is 18,800 kW across the whole wind farm.

Power per turbine 2,350 kW

At wind speeds of 14 m/s or above.

Co-op share 39.74%

Members collectively own 39.74% of the generation.

How wind speed changes output

A small change in wind speed can make a very big difference. In this model, going from 5 m/s to 10 m/s raises output from about 208 kW to 1,818 kW, which is almost nine times as much power.

Show wind farm highlights
Best month so far December 2024

Total generation reached 7,436 MWh

That is enough for about 297,440 average home-days, assuming 25 kWh a day

It also works out to about 29.7 million EV miles, assuming 4 miles per kWh

Quieter month April 2025

Total generation was 3,220 MWh

That is still about 128,800 average home-days

Or roughly 12.9 million EV miles

Why the gap? Wind speed matters

Average wind speed fell from 9.1 m/s in December 2024 to 5.8 m/s in April 2025

That 36% drop in wind speed led to generation being 57% lower

Turbine availability was still almost identical at 99.6% and 99.5%
